Kokie Cosmetics Eye Brow Kit - Review
Okie, dokie, we are back with Kokie.....oh my that was a new age Dr. Suess coming at you. LOL
Ok, I'm done with the silly-ness. Let's talk eyebrows. I picked up the Kokie Eyebrow Kit about three weeks ago and have been using it ever since. I feel that I am ready to give you my final honest review as to what I think about this product.
So the Kokie online description for this little kit say it's "Everything you need for perfect and professional quality brows. Complete with a clear gel to prep with, two brow powders to create shape, a miniature spoolie to distribute color and brush hair into place, and miniature tweezers for clean-up. Compact enough to create flawless brows from anywhere."
The claims are that it is:
*Travel size
*Natural finish
*Easy to use
This comes in 4 different shade kits. Each kit comes with two powders and one gel. The one I have is the color 567 Brunette. While I know that my hair color is mostly blonde, my brows still boast my "natural" hair color.....which is more like a dishwater as opposed to brunette. Hence why I get my hair colored religiously every 6 weeks.
Anyhoo... here's what my brows look like when they have been freshly applied using the Kokie Cosmetics brow kit in Brunette.
It seems to match quite nicely to my own brow color, so I was pleased with that. Because I am a creature of habitual happenings for some particular things....such as my eyebrows....I am not one who usually strays too far from what I know and like and is easiest to use. For many years I have been using the Anastasia Brow Powder in Taupe.
I like pomades, pencils are ok and I really like the Maybelline tatoo brow kit as well, but neither of them are as easy and quick as the powder.
I decided to put the Kokie brow powder up to the test and compare it with my Anastasia, after all, who wouldn't want to only pay $10 for Kokie brows compared to $30 for ABH brows? Below is what I did....I had one eyebrow done with ABH and the other done with Kokie at 6am. Then I snapped a photo at the 3pm mark to show what they looked like.
So you see, they are a good match for color. Below is the swatch of the two kits. I only used the dark color of the Kokie kit, but I showed both colors. And same with ABH, I only use the dark color so I didn't even bother swatching the light color.
I think the dark colors match just about perfectly...at least from what I can see.
Now for the claims and my thoughts.
*Travel friendly - Yes, this little kit is only about two inches long and about one inch thick and wide. It comes with a little drawer on the bottom that holds the spoolie and the brush. Although one thing I do have an issue with on the packaging is that the little drawer was so hard to open up that I felt like I was about to break it just to pry it open. So hopefully that was just a fluke on mine and not all of them.
*Natural finish - I think so, what do you think? Do my brows look natural to you?
*Easy to use - Yep, I find it very user friendly and extremely simple and fast.
I do agree with the claims on the Kokie brow product and would recommend it.
BUT I DO HAVE ONE CON TO THE PRODUCT: The clear gel is not for me. I have a very oily complexion, therefore when I use the clear gel / base, it just slips the product right off of my eyebrow. I used it for the first two days and both days my eyebrows were rubbed off. It was not a pretty sight. So if you have oily skin, I would just be watchful is you use the gel. If you aren't oily then I'd say slap that puppy on and go for it.
Finally I say that "YES" this product is a go for me and I will be storing away my ABH for the Kokie, and proud of it too. I don't mind saving $20 on my brows. How about you?
That's all I have for today, I hope it was helpful and you will visit me again here at 523!!
Until next time, take care.
