Instead of trying to categorize each news story , why not let the power of the blockchain decide on top ten stories? For beta purposes just let anyone post any news story. We could also make people look over stories and vote at least one news story already up before they post. This would slow down on duplicate posting about the same news story.

The first problem I see in a beta program will be a story blowing up with comments. I think each story will need to split at least 3 wide. This first split could be world, national, and regional. This could start the process of categorizing and simple enough for each poster to do without much thought.
