Magento 2 API – Create Credit Memo

I'm delighted to bring you another blog post in the Magento 2 API series. In my previous post, I discussed the Magento 2 API for creating shipments. Today, I will demonstrate how you can utilize the REST API to create a credit memo in Magento 2.

Product returns are a common occurrence in eCommerce businesses. Customers may return products for various reasons, such as size mismatches, accidental orders, or receiving the wrong product. If you're a Magento developer working on a custom admin panel, you can leverage the REST API to create credit memo in Magento 2 using REST API.

Magento 2, renowned for its flexibility as an eCommerce platform, empowers businesses to create and manage online stores tailored to their specific requirements through APIs. To utilize the Magento 2 API for creating a credit memo, the client must have admin-level access and include an authorization token in the request.

To create a credit memo and issue a refund using the Magento 2 REST API, the client simply needs to make a POST request to the endpoint order/<order_id>/refund.
