~ A Thistle of Some Sort ~

I spent most of the day manicuring an area of the yard... but I did manage to take a break with the camera! M'Lady asked me if I had seen this flower that popped up in the back. Considering that I was working in the back... I was shocked to answer, NO.

She pointed out a spot in the corner I hadn't paid attention to in a couple of days. I assure you those flowers were not there a couple of days ago. So, I grabbed my camera and went to work. Sure enough, a few friends showed up to spice things up a bit! I hope you enjoy the visual journey of this series of captures. I was thankful for the break... but even more thankful for the company!

This next shot was so cool I had to show it in it's full glory and then with a bit of a zoom! I really love the angles, curves, and shapes going on. The level on those wings was quite amazing. I feel very fortunate to capture symmetry like this from time to time. Patience truly is a virtue!

I really enjoy looking at the tiny pollen all over this bee. The abdomen is always one of my favorite features of any insect. When I was cropping the shots and zoomed in I noticed how cool this leg looked! Instantly, ZZ-Top started playing in my head until I remembered that this was no Queen! hahaha

Then here we have another buddy that shows up to take advantage of these exotic flowers and their irresistible charm! The eyes on this fellow are quite stunning and those wings are almost ethereal.
