A Berry Fine Day
~ Walking In The Woods ~
We went for a walk in the woods yesterday and it was such a berry fine day! I wasn't even able to check out my photos until today! If you know me, I usually can't wait to see my captures... but I was working on an epic post that took me all day to put together.
It's called Will Work For Photography ~ A Story To Tell ~ and it has some great images along with a bit of humor. Feel free to check it out if you enjoy this post! I have much to show you so I will keep my words to a minimum for your viewing pleasures. They are sequentially ordered for the most part. Enjoy a Walk In The Woods with me!
The pale white-blue of these berries contrasted by the warm tones in that leaf behind them was quite a sight to set things in motion.
These alien-looking flowers grow everywhere here in Sweden. I really like the conical shape that they grow in as well as the color. The color is fantastic but unfortunately, some of the blue hues get overpowered by the pinkish purplish overtones.
Most berries in this post were harmed and transmuted by my body. These wild rasberries were no exception... but when in doubt, throw them out! I would have loved to try those white-blue ones... but with my luck they would be a poisonous start to my walk. So, I stuck with what I know.
Raspberries look really alien to me. They have this the same kind of dusty coating like Blueberries that gives them an interesting sheen. I love the light beaming through that one portion of berry in this next shot. They also have some weird hairs like tendrils dangling all over. It's really trippy if you stop and take the time look.
I never get tired of seeing actual Cherries hanging and dangling in the trees. We didn't have too many Cherry trees back in Texas that I was familiar with. So, it's kind of a special treat to see... not to mention EAT!
Now, we even have Hazelnuts! I have had all kinds of Hazelnut flavored things... but this is one of the first times I have actually seen them growing in nature. Super Cool!
Any time I see a bug on a flower and my camera is within running distance... I try to get there and capture the macro action before it's too late. The trick is not to scare them while getting in position. They don't generally stay too long either so time is extremely limited. With my point and shoot... I have to get super close. Then I have to get the damn thing to focus. It seems to have this thing about not EVER wanting to focus on the spot I WANT. Oh well, you win some... you lose some!
The first REAL Mushroom that I have spotted so far this year and a rigid looking Roly-Poly!
The final Cherry of the day. Yes, I ate it and it was super good. I saved the seed and will look up the best way to get my new baby bonsai to grow! The gift that will keep on giving.
Then I came across this weird looking flower. It reminded me of purple Jalapenos. I am interested to look more into what this beatuful oddity is!
A Flying Ant or a Tiny Bee... I can not tell!
I absolutely love these flowers. The richness of the Orange is super intense, especially in the light beams of direct Sun. They look like Orange Dandelions that flower in buds of three. I thought it was cool to get more than one bug at the same time as well! The shadows are also quite stunning to study.
I always enjoy seeing the insects stretched out wondering how their little legs and feet are so agilely gripping delicate flower petals. One of these days I will get a better shot of the wings in action for these landings and takeoffs.
Of course, one more Raspberry for the road!
I wasn't sure if this little fellow was dead or alive. I think it was literally intoxicated by this flower. Since it was so windy I stabilized the flower with my left hand (which you can see minimally if look closely enough along the left edge. He didn't move but a tad when I grazed him and it was only about the size of my pinky nail. Cool Bee and Cool Flower!
I promised on a post earlier this Spring that Blueberries were coming! Well, looks like they are a bit early. The complementary nature of the Green leaves and the Blueberries themselves is quite an eye-catcher. The different shades of the berries keep it interesting.
I didn't want this thing of beauty to end up like it's friends... so I decided to show it some appreciation by absorbing it into my essence. It's funny when I look at the Blueberry images and see my fingerprints on them. It's actually like a negative of the prints because only the dust that didn't get touched stays. I don't think it's even dust... but that's what I call it.
And just in case you may be wondering, YES! It was delicious! Thanks for joining me on this Walk in the Woods for the Berry Fine Day! I know I can't share the flavors and smells or the cool breezes and warmth of the Sun's light... but I was able to share my captures of beauty. I appreciate your time and truly hope you enjoyed the beauty!

The ending of this post with the gif of Bob Ross was marvelous, haha.
I think I'm on the need of one of those walk in the woods. Nice trip!
