Macrophotography ~ The Ants

Ants are small insects that live almost everywhere in the planet Earth. Various types of ants exist in this world, both red ants, weaver ant, and black ants.

I found two types of ants the same size, but have different colors. One black ant whose habitat is in a pit under the roots of trees, the other is a living red ant and nesting in the leaves.

Black ants that I meet are often referred to as carpenter ants. These ants are often found living in humid places. Sometimes, these ants are also known as piercing trees. This type of ant is very active move at night to find food.

Carpenter ants do not bite humans, but larger worker ants can sting if forced. The bite even causes irritation because it contains formic acid.

In contrast to ant carpenter, weaver ant tends to be useful for farmers. Ants that are able to knit nests in these foliage are often used as natural guardians of fruits by farmers.

Both of these ant types I aim at using Xiaomi smartphone plus a Canon assembled macro lens.

Conclusion

Almost all living things have their respective roles in this life. Similarly, the ant that the average body is small. Although small, ants also have a big role in Earth life. However, if I were told to choose which ants are more useful for humans, then I would choose weaver ants. Moreover, these ants are often used by farmers in Southeast Asia as a natural guard of fruits from pests.
