Viola arvensis - Víola arvénsis
Imagine a huge desert and a tiny oasis, in the middle of the desert. This violet was like a lonely oasis.
It is a coniferous forest with age-old pines. There is very little vegetation, there is very little light.
And now, in this realm of semi-darkness, there is such a beautiful, very small flower, and he is alone. Neither one of his relatives was near him.
He looked very lonely, maybe it feels like a distant star who does not have satellites.
So, more about our star. This is Viola arvensis, again a paradox. Meadow, this name suggests an open space with a lot of herbaceous plants. As this flower found itself in a dense forest, it is a mystery. Maybe he lost his way?
But, in this forest, there was a favorable soil for violets. They love acid soil. Decayed needles greatly increases the acidity of the soil, and therefore, even with a lack of light, this soil gives the violet, all the necessary elements.
The light that hardly penetrates through the tree crowns was enough for the photosynthesis of chlorophyll.
As a child, I was allergic to violets, which grew in flower pots on my grandmother's window sill. Therefore, I did not inquire how this wonderful but very lonely flower smells.
