La mer ~ French (original) version vs. English version

I think it's interesting and dissapointing what hsppened to this song when America picked it up :\ So, the English version it is not actually a translation. ..At all. As you may remember, it's about a couple that's kept apart by the ocean, wanting to leave the sea forever. In the original, it's an Ode to the Sea :3 Just look !
