Yoda - Pencil drawing tutorial - Learn to Draw with Friends - Week Eight

This is my pencil drawing and tutorial of Yoda, Grand Master of the Jedi Order in the Star Wars movie franchise.
This time I decided to go with a monochrome picture, because many steemians told me they prefer it over coloring with colored pencils.

I made an animated gif so you can see the process:

Let's talk a little bit of the proportions, in this case we can draw a big circle for the head, and another circle about the same to decide where the drawing bottom line will be. Then we can draw the middle line on Yoda's head: the eyes will be just under that line, unlike human proportions, because his forehead is very big and developed ( probably to emphasize his brain "Force").

Now we can start drawing some of his features. In this step it's very important to get the measurments right before putting details and shading in.

Once we got everything right we can start adding details and putting a little bit of shading in the darkest parts.

Now we can use a blending stick, or any other technique, to give a tone to the entire drawing.

With the help of the eraser we can achieve the lightest points of Yoda's face and bust. And with a darker pencil we can go over the darkest parts and outlines.

Remember to blend your white to dark points to make the light gradation softer and more realistic. Use the eraser again for Yoda's hair and draw over it with a sharp pencil to give a hair effect.
