Hello Steemians

This is my 3rd entry into the "Learn To Draw With Friends" - Week 5
Contest by @tonyr, the link to the contest is shown below:

For those who are not familiar with it:

Essentially, tonyr provides 3 pictures in the contest link (along with the image credits). There are Amazing Art works on the contest, and you can either submit one of your drawings or vote on other participants' drawings.

For the 3rd entry, I have attempted the option "Crash Bandicoot!!!"
(referring to the picture shown in the link above)

I experimented with some colour pencils again and below is my attempt. Hope it came out okay.

Here are some close ups of my drawing attempt:

Thought that it would be interesting to incorporate the hashtag ltdwf (Learn To Draw With Friends) somewhere in the drawing.

I included my user tag along with the wind, written backwards

Below are some main progress pictures

To start off, I began a rough sketch in pencil.
For this drawing, I plan to illustrate the 'grid method'. There are some great drawing tutorials created by @giuatt07, @ckurtish and many others, and some of them do mention this technique.

Just want to illustrate this technique and add some of my thoughts about the technique. Hopefully this post may assist users who plan to use this method.
To start off, you create grids on the reference drawing, can be 1cm by 1cm for example, and then you decide how big you want to scale up the reference image. If you want to scale it up 3 time, you then create the same number of grids on your drawing paper, but each grid is now 3cm by 3cm.

The number of grids depends on how comfortable you are with drawing the reference image. If you have more experience in drawing you may require fewer grids.
The grids essentially provides a guide to assist you to draw the reference image.

Now that the general shape of the drawing is there, you can fine tune it.

When you are comfortable with the initial rough sketch you can start to erase the grid lines that you no longer require.

The more grids you use, the more time and attention is required to erase the grids.

Once the grids you no longer need are erased, you can proceed to start using color pencils.

A method I use to color the drawing is to outline the parts of the drawing with the color that will appear most in that particular part. For example the eyebrows are black, therefore I outline it initially in black and so on.

Once I am okay with the outline, I start to color in the drawing.

The fine tuning of the color took quite a long time, as there may be different shades of a particular color and it takes time to bring out that effect.

And this is it:
