Shiba Inu to Launch Layer 2 High-Performance Blockchain in August

The world's most popular dog breed, the Shiba Inu, is having its own blockchain platform. The Shiba Inu Blockchain Platform (SIBP) will launch in August, according to the company's announcement.

The platform will be built on Layer 2 and will provide high-performance, enterprise-grade blockchain solutions for businesses and developers who need to build decentralized applications (dApps). SIBP will also provide a full suite of developer tools and SDKs to help users get started.

The platform is developed by Shiba Inu Labs, which was founded by blockchain developer David Chaum in 2018. Chaum is known as one of the pioneers of digital currency, having invented eCash, an anonymous digital payment system based on cryptographic protocols similar to those used by Bitcoin and Ethereum today.

Chaum said he believes blockchains can be used not only for currency transactions, they can also be used to store data or even manage smart contracts between two parties. He hopes the new platform will make it easier for companies to build apps on blockchains without having to worry about building their own infrastructure from scratch.
