Don't get too close to your new lover.

A fire that starts in a very wild manner doesn't burn for too long. Couples break up everyday for many reasons and it's actually ironic that one major reason why couples break up is that they often quickly get too close to each other. Yes, you heard right.

When people get in a new relationship, they most times tend to rush things and manually speed up intimacy but how good is this in the end? No good. Ultimately, the flavour is lost and it becomes a boring relationship.

Below are reasons why one shouldn't get too close to his or her new lover:

1. Too Close Can Suffocate A Thing.
This plays out also in love. When some one gets overly too much of another person, it's bad for the health of the relationship. The person being 'suffocated' with love can defensively withdraw on instinct when he or she feels invaded. Give your partner time for his or herself. Your partner had a life before you two met, and it's better for the health of the relationship when you blend into his or her life slowly.

2. Too Close Makes You Lose Value.
Has a friend ever visited you too often that you see him coming one day and then you pretend to be asleep? I once or twice have done that to my friend (John). Don't be like John.

3. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
The likely opposite of (2) above. I realized that even in the family where the jerk in me is mostly seen, when I travel and come home, my brother gets overjoyed and more of me. He'd want to chat always, he'd want to hang around. This king treatment though always stops after a few days.

Sometimes in a relationship, it's good to deliberately go a little off the radar. Make your lover really want you sometimes by intentionally being unavailable. This works. Don't over-do it though, or you'll find yourself on the receiving end.
