Hello!

The pond is still partially frozen today. Not safe for skating still. We are going to get some cooler temperatures starting next week, hopefully we can get some nice clean smooth ice, even if I have to flood the place a bit myself to make it happen!! 😂

Skating rink here we come! Whoooo!

I discovered a rare cat-slug on the bench.

And Klaus is very snuggled. The wood furnace keeps the house nice and warm.
I petted him and he didn’t even stir. 💕
So sweet!

I’m excited about learning about the herbs growing around me. The knowledge is sticking and I’m hoping my notes will be helpful when spring comes!

So thankful for my books. While I use the internet often to expand my knowledge or to confirm ideas, I prefer reading from good old fashioned books. Something tangible I can fiddle with and flip through, I find reading online hard on my eyes too.

I can’t believe we have reached the end of 2021 already! What a ridiculous couple of years.

I have a pile of old tree limbs and brush to burn 🔥 perhaps the wind will offer its reprieve so I can build a big fire to ring in the new year!

I opened the door to the duck house today, but they totally refused to go outside. A bit too nippy I think. They have a decent sized pen, with indoor and outdoor areas, so they have all they need except open water to play and bathe in, which they looooove.
I got them a little pool, but it’s frozen up now. Need a little heater maybe 🤔

I haven’t decided what the next painting will be. Trying to finish up a cute macrame phone purse now that will be in the shop soon!
