What does it mean to really be in Love?
Love they say is a "beautiful thing."
Love has been given several interpretations and attributes by different people, some of which, (dare I say) has been purportedly a wrong description.
Some say;
•Love is sacrifice
•Love is Patience
•Love is Endurance
•Love never gives up
•Love is supernatural.
•Love is unconditional.
Types of Love
We have a perfect understanding that their are basically 3 types of love:
1. Agape Love:
The Love of God for us, this love stems from the fact that God was willing and able to give up something someone he cares so much about just to ensure that we become His own once again. This singular act made it possible for one of God's attribute to be "Love" (God is love).
God actually displayed the highest form of Love when He sent His Son Jesus to die for us, and as a result of this perfect example, we know God's Love is Unconditional.
2. Eros (Emotion-backed):
Often we tend to mistake Eros with platonios (which is the next kind of love). Eros is a type of love which is commonly found in our generation today. The love that is rooted only in emotions- Implicitly, how one feels at a particular moment. This love is expressed in several ways.(I really don't want to delve into that right now- we would talk about it subsequently).
The challenge with this kind of love is that its foundation isn't really strong as emotions can change within the twinkle of an eye, hence Eros lovers tend to feel the withering of their love with time.
Entanglements proportioned to Eros can lead to heartbreaks, dangerous soul-ties and other social vices.
Unfortunately, Eros is the most seen type of love and has its roots in fantasies and emotions, it has led to several destructive habit, preposterous love lives, HIV and AIDS, unwanted pregnancies and what not.
Eros is a very dangerous type of love as it is always receptive and not giving. Eros love is never sacrificial, Lovers who have only emotional bonds have themselves always looking for what they will receive from their partners, it is usually a one-sided love.
3. Platonios:
Platonios is love borne from friendship, commonly called platonic love . This is love that is uncorrupted. Platonic love is borne out of need for responsibility, friendship that is rooted in Platonios is always lasting and temperate.
We see many people in our generation today claim they are in love, they contend that they are deeply in love with someone that they cannot live without, some argue that without the presence of someone whom they love so much in their lives, they would actually terminate their lives as there is actually no need for living...

I wonder if humans still love one another without aiming to get anything in return. People say they love God but they find it hard to love one another, when in the real sense, we loving others means loving God
