Will You Marry Me? Hint Hint - Awesome Proposal Idea.
OK, so I have actually already said my "I do" - been there done that! But I thought this is such an original and romantic idea for those who are actually considering popping the big question sometime soon. A touch of romance can go along way and in my opinion, getting a little creative with your proposal is the perfect start to the ''ever after".
This idea originates from a project I have been working on for my son, called Love Notes From Around The World. Here's my suggestion for the ultimate proposal:
You get your friends and family from around the world to take a photo (with their country's scenery in the background) of a note that reads something like this:
"Sarah, my love for you is so great it has traveled all the way to Scotland. WILL YOU MARRY ME? "
You can then print out these photos and use them in your proposal.
Here are a few things you can do with the photos:
- MOVIE NIGHT. Invite your partner over for a movie. Instead of picking out a DVD however, put together a slide show using all the photos you have collected. Once you are snug under the covers, ask boyfriend or girlfriend to not say anything until the "movie" is over. Hit the start but and then at the end of the slide show, get down on one knee and pop the question. Celebrate with popcorn, champagne and an actual romantic movie.
- SCAVENGER HUNT. Use your photos to create a scavenger hunt. At the end you can tell your partner that they mean the world to you in your proposal.
- Ye Old Bed Spread. Arrange the photos on the bed, or use them to create the shape of a heart. Add a sprinkle of rose petals that lead from the door to the bed. Add to this romantic atmosphere by lighting candles, offering chocolates and play some soft music. A nice surprise for your loved one to come home to!
This is just the romantic in me talking, but I honestly do think that I have something here, and that my idea would make a marriage proposal that goes down in history, or at least gets you that YES that you are looking for. If you are not planning on getting hitched any time soon, then you could also use this idea as a Valentines day gift, or to acknowledge a special anniversary.
