The Rastafarian himself said to my heart: “One love, one heart… Let’s get together and feel all right.” First is One universal love. This is the love that goes beyond me saying, “I love you.” This is the source of love. This One love is the love of love, the sacrificial love, the unconditional love, the giving love, the patient love, the enduring love and overcoming love. This is the love that binds men together. This is the love that forgives. This is the love that serves. This is the One love that doesn’t need a definition. This is not the ephemeral love but the love that lasts. This is the love that bears with others weaknesses and faults. But this love does not sit still. This love heals and binds all wounds. This is the one love that gives freedom. One love does not make one a slave but sets one free. One love is not selfish or self seeking. One love loves one and another alike. One love is courage to speak to another and to reach out and care.

One love blossoms into the fruit of one heart. Without love there is no connection to the heart. One love unites the hearts of men and women. One heart has no division. There is no mine and theirs or mine and yours. There is one heart and that's it. One heart cannot be two. Each human being is given one heart. Other creatures like the earthworm have five hearts but we are not worms we are men and women. We have one heart to give an undivided love. Our hearts are thirsty for this one love.
