PART 1 OF MY BOOK TILTLED LOVE VS INFATUATION

hello steemians and my followers, i would be writing on the above subject matter for the next one week starting from Friday. stay tuned with me on my page and be informed.

First and foremost I have noticed 80% of the world population today mistake infatuation for love due to one self acclaimed feelings or the other. Before i move on let me give a brief meaning of infatuation and love in a layman understanding for us to have proper knowledge of where am driving at. Infatuation as the name implies is falling in love with or becoming extremely interested in someone or something for a short time while on the other hand love is an intense feeling of deep affection, having a great interest and pleasure in a person or thing for a long period of time.If we are word conscious, we would notice that infatuation from the definition is a feeling that last for a short period while on the other hand, love is an emotion/feeling that last for a long period of time, hopefully till death.
Now having known the various meaning of love and infatuation, I would like to state here that so many of us around the globe should think twice before we think we are in love why because love in this our present generation cannot be compared to the kind of love our fore fathers had for themselves. in our generation today you see a couple exchanging marital vows today on the altar of God, in the next one to three years you will hear they have been divorced and i pause to ask myself, do we really know what love means?
Now the trend in our society is the lust for money as a cover up for love, in other words we tend to fall in love with an individual if he/she is wealthy and extremely rich. Majority of the girls who are married out there today did so because of the money and not for love, same applies to the men. Now taking into consideration a trending and popular scenario of some African men who get married solely to white women are doing so not for the love i bet, but rather for the love of the money involved and greener pastures in the years ahead. Looking at all these events, if in the long run something goes bad, or if there is any financial problem/constraint that can lead to the man/woman becoming poor without hope, u will see that the less fortunate individual in the relationship/marriage tend to look for a way out by jettisoning his/her partner for a richer one or for more greener pastures as the case may be. Now my question is, can that be love or infatuation, because if we truly know the meaning of love we will stand by our spouse no matter the storm that comes in, but in our world of today there is a popular saying now that “love is based on money, if you don’t have money you can’t find true love” which should not be so. what kind of examples are we laying for the generation yet unborn? what kind environment are we trying to create for our kids and our infant communities? This question is put forward for us to ponder on.
