Heart Mudra (yoga hand gesture)

Everyone has experienced a break-up. Some relationships may come to end quickly, some last for a long time and then suddenly end. I wonder surely I'm not the only one looking for someone who I could stay with forever?

It's amazing how the existence of the other person can bring up all the beautiful vibrations. Suddenly the heart is filled with so much joy and purifying beams are coming from the heart into all directions. You are radiating honesty and beauty, it's a blissful state to be in. I'm wondering and asking myself: is this actually our natural state of being? You are the one feeling all this love, the heart is showing you what a beautiful place it is and how amazing you are to carry so much love within yourself. Did the existence of the other person surfaced the levels of love that are already within you?

Perhaps I'm only trying to find something positive about the break-up, but it is possible to see it from another point of view: If somebody rejects you, it is possible to view to love you were feeling as your natural state, a reminder that love is the best state to remain in. And the pain is the indicator that you want to remain in that state. Yes, the existence of the other person brought up the levels of love that were already within you and you have grown and have a new awareness of yourself.

How to practise Hridaya (Heart) Mudra

*Fold the index finger towards you thumb, the middle and ring finger are also touching the thumb, the little finger is relaxed. Remain in the posture with both hands as long as it's comfortable. Practise the mudra at least five minutes a day.
Close your eyes, relax and try to feel any subtle changes inside your body.
Your heart area slowly becomes unburdened.
For a greater impact, practise this exercise for 40 days.

You can perform it during any activity, anytime and anywhere, while walking, or you can practise it in a meditation posture like Padmasana (Lotus Pose), Ardha Padmasana (Half Lotus Pose) or Vajrasana (Diamond Pose):*

The wisdom of mudras

Mudras regulate the five elements that the human body is made of. These elements need to be balanced so we can stay healthy. The practise of mudras broadens our horizon so we can experience more love, joy, purity and divinity within ourselves and in our lives. And these new vibrations then exists in our new relationship too.

I will be posting more articles about mudras :)
