LOVE UNCONDITIONAL

Can you see love in their eyes?
Does romance fill your thoughts?
Do your thoughts offer compassion?
A warm but timid glow.

As the Sun gives life to
All that it reaches,
So do mother's souls.
The greatest gift to man.

Loose are the meanings of life,
And life offers no answers
To those who do not ask.
First, you must remove your mask,
To have this chance at last.

Where have the lovers gone
When pain is felt inside?
Where is the light of day,
When darkness fills our mind?

Within this solace of a thought,
Love hides its face
In cowering reflection,
While pain beats the tender flesh,
Like the waves that beat up on
These barren shores… Whispering,
“Love is unconditional.”
