Feelings for Wisdom

Young and old alike,
Good and bad alike,
They love and hate all the same
Yet they are so different still
So wise with age they get
So the young ones do love and hate
But not as wisely as the old ones have
But all in all they all still feel.

A thousand years, they’ve seen and felt
A thousand times they’ve hurt and hurt
They love and hate again and again,
Like a merry go round in cycles
On and on and on and on
But the old find peace sometime
While the young will fall again
And maybe hurt one more time

The breeze that blows the old
Blows all with them
It hits us hard
And then we know
The wisdom that we hold
We cry we pray that we may
Someday be wiser still
But we still go and fall again
Into new love and into fresh hate

How stupid they feel
When the hurt has gone so far
It stretched them thin
Till they can’t go further
So they learn from the past and become
The new old ones
Then the one yet to hurt
Become the young in lieu
Of them that grew…
