Man's greatest power is Man's greatest failing

Man in all his marvelous attributes, has no greater power than the potential for love.

As one regarded by many as the greatest of all said, roughly : no matter what you do have, if you don't have love, you have nothing, you are nothing and you will be nothing.

He also said that love creates all, overcomes all and provides all felicity.

And yet this most important of all concepts is hidden from our children.

We teach instead a web of destructive lies.

We teach by example. We teach through heroes. Our primary teaching tool is media and we teach the very young.

The love we teach is grotesque.

We teach that love is infatuation. That we fall in love, rather than cultivate love.

We teach that love is unpredictable and beyond our cotrol.

The truth is we are entirely responsible for the love we nurture in our inner being.

We teach that love is unreliable, that we can fall out of love.

Love that fails, never was love but rather the result of this greatest of human failures, the failure to give the most important concept the most import.

We've turned the powers of creation of life into a method of satisfying lust.

We've put the satisfaction of desire above the responsibility for the nurture of our species.

We permit divorce, adultery, abandonment of child rearing responsibility, rape, sexual slavery and every kind of perversion imaginable.

We, collectively, make idiots look good.

We destroy our planet, our future, our dignity, our honour, our wisdom, our trust and life itself in the millions of species we annihilate every day.

Love is the appreciation of our position in life, which means in existance. Appreciation for our reliance on all that has gone before to make us possible.

The appreciation of the total interdependence we have on each other, on all species, on all things, for all that exists, of which we are part.

Love appreciates the complications in achieving the incredible degree of complexity it takes for our interdependence to result in positive results.

Tolerating, understanding and striving to understand, forgiving and forebearing, assisting and educating, sharing and caring, serving and protecting, accepting responsibility and paying our respect to everything which has made our individual existance possible.

These are the characteristics of love.

These are the saving principles for the future of our species, our sanity, our planet and all the life on it.

Love is our greatest power and our greatest downfall as we fail to embrace it.
