On a cloud nine ride...

They say "when the going gets tough, the tough get going"...Makes sense I suppose; You know, people dig that little bit deeper to help them overcome adversity and to a large degree I concur. We have always done that as well however sometimes life gets the better of people and the the mountains we have to climb seem insurmountable. It happens to everyone I guess.

Life isn't always straightforward and easy...Sometimes it's complicated and that's when it's important to remember what's important.

Right now we're going through one of those patches; We have been for a few months now. My partner's mother is battling with cancer and it's taking a bit of a toll on us as well. It just seems that we're always frowning about something and we don't generally have the time to relax. If we do find a few minutes to ourselves we seem to just zone out rather than do anything for ourselves. Between my job, my partner running our business and taking care of her mum things are pretty hectic around here and we haven't found a lot of reasons to smile. There's been no lightness...

We have a thing we do where we send a song to each other, usually once a month or so. It's a musical message to say how we are feeling, or how we want to feel. Sometimes there's no message at all and it's simply a nice song we want to share with the other.

Through the last few months this little tradition has become more important as it has allowed us to convey how we feel easily and everyone knows music can carry a lot of emotion right? So, we have sent a few back and forth and tonight I was on the search for one to send tomorrow. I decided upon this one. 💥

This song is by Florida Georgia Line, one of my favourite bands right now, and it seemed the perfect choice to bring a smile to her face and a little lightness into a day that may seem otherwise bleak and uninspiring. It's a celebration of simply being with a lover, revelling in their company and being in love.
