True Love

It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

True love is eternal. Have you ever head of people in abusive relationships who still say they love their abuser? It makes you wonder what the hell is wrong with the person. You can only hope and pray that they come to their senses. People say love is blind, but that isn't necessarily true. Love isn't really blind, but when you are in love, you tend to ignore some things. Love makes you just turn a blind eye so there will be peace.

Imagine a kid insulting his mum, and during dinner, the mum still calls him to come and eat. That is love that sees the wrong of the kid, but chooses to ignore it. The love is greater than the insult. Lot's of people doubt the existence of true love. Probably because of what they've heard, seen, or even gone through. Well i'm here to tell you that true love does exist. It is rare to find, but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Maybe you are looking at the wrong places.

From the above scripture, we see the true nature of love. If you have true love, you are supposed to show this traits. Are you patient, kind, humble and respectful? Are you optimistic? If you fall out of love and fall back in very often, then you should check yourself. It's not something that can go away that easily. You can't love someone today and not even want to see him/her next day, then you never really loved the person. True love is true and pure, and it's supposed to last forever. You can even get a divorce, but still be in love with the person.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world,that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

One of the most popular verses in the bible shows us the nature of love. Love is sacrifice. It isn't like what you see in the movies with a happy ever after. You have to make a conscious effort to make your love work. It requires a lot of self sacrifice. It takes a lot of energy and work to make love successful. Don't think because it's true love, things will come easily. The more true your love is, the more work you have to do to establish it. God so loved mankind that, he gave His only son to establish his love. When you make the sacrifice, it will be worthwhile.
