Our First Baby - Bimbee

Hello everyone, let me introduce to you our cutest little Baby, Bimbee!

Bimbee is now 7 years old and her birthdate was on May 19, 2011. Her mother is a Duchshund and her father is 50% Shih Tzu and 50% Border Collie by blood so that makes our Bimbee very special because she came from three breeds of wonderful dogs. Obviously, Bimbee is 50% Duchshund, 25% Shih Tzu, and 25% Border Collie.
Bimbee is very smart, she can be jealous, mad, snob or even demanding to you. She will like you to scrub her back and tummy.
But despite all of those adorable characteristics that she have, Bimbee almost died when she was a puppy because she got infected with Canine Parvovirus. For those of you who are not familiar with *Canine Parvovirus", according to petmd.com it is a highly contagious viral illness that affects dogs. The virus manifests itself in two different forms. The more common form is the intestinal form, which is characterized by vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, and lack of appetite (anorexia). The less common form is the cardiac form, which attacks the heart muscles of very young puppies, often leading to death.
So in Bimbee's case it was anorexia, we were so worried that time because she lost her appetite and just vomited the whole time up until she got dehydrated and could hardly even stand. We got her admitted to a veterinary clinic the following day. My girlfriend's mother was already crying at that moment since the doctor said to us that in most cases, puppies who get infected with parvovirus rarely survive.
Thankfully, she passed the test and survived from her ordeal. She is now very healthy and happy. As you can see in her galery where she is chillin' in the beach.
