Love is Love, Kindness is Everything
It all started right after the election in 2016, when Jennifer Rosen-Heinz was tagged in a picture in FB by a friend. It had a handwritten sign saying "In This House We Believe: Black Lives Matter, Women's Rights are Human Rights, No Human is Illegal, Science is Real, Love is Love, And Kindness is Everything". Inspired by these words, she decided to do something about it. Something that could send the message out there and inspire others just like she was.
Asking around for someone to create graphics for the sign, a friend of hers, Kristin Joiner of 622 Press, volunteered to create it for her. And another friend, Becca Schwartz, also pitched in how best to spread the message to others. They posted in their FB pages and timelines and doing other stuff. They eventually found the person who made the original sign and created the wordings, Kristin Garvey from Madison, Wisconsin. And with her approval and help, they continued to reach out to a lot of people, with the main intention of letting others be aware of the message, doing something about it, and with never intending to gain profit by it.
And so from there, the project just took off. After the pictures went viral, a lot of business, cafes, shops, etc. started printing it and giving it away for free. Hundreds and then thousands of people across the country posted pictures in FB holding up the sign. It just started small and then grew big. Raising money from sales of the sign, Jennifer and her group, with others contributing, were able to donate $7,000 to ACLU. When the movement grew big, and having realized they could not keep it up - they have full-time jobs and three of them are moms with kids - they decided to give the image rights to a small non-profit organization, the Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health for the project to continue.
Up to this day, the simple yet powerful message has continued to inspire, helped in spreading the love and upholding the value of humanity. Shirts, signs, and a lot of other merchandise are available online. Already there are t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, and other products for sale on Amazon, and other online stores.
