Nice view, but remember they are only obeying the government!.
When it comes down to the nitty gritty level, it is the politicians / government behind it.
As there is an infinite number of possibilities of why to become a soldier, then later on, one might not have an option, specially when ruled !
Hey, you got it all backwards. As far as I know there’s no forced conscription in most western countries. Going abroad to serve the corrupt corporations and politicians is one’s personal choice, and there are other avenues to making a living. What happens later, when you pay the price of that choice, is just a form of evolutionary meritocracy.
Of course, if you’re talking about places like North Korea, then it’s a horse of another color.
