WHERE TO FIND LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE?

Did you know that almost all people from steemit are not hanging out just on steemit, but on the discord servers and on steemit.chat too? It's very hard to build friendship with people on steemit if you are just upvoting each other's blogs. There is no depth in it and it's very impersonal. Also you can't really be personal in some post's comments and have a normal conversation here, because anybody could see that and use the information to his advantage to maybe even blackmail you later!

Wouldn't it be really nice to have a discord server where you could find people with the same hobbies and mindset as you have? Or to have a normal conversation?

Well look no more! There is a LFN discord server! Looking For Niche is a community for finding like-minded people to follow and collaborate with or just to find cool people to hang with on the internet. LFN do also have it's own token on BitShares/OpenLedger exchange and it is possible to use those tokens for upvotes from @rawbinhutt account. However, the features of user issued assets are endless.

Are you there? The best thing to do first is to read the faq to know everything about the project and how to use the commands.

After you read it all it's time to go to looking-for-niche-tagging channel and find some people with the same niche! I was maybe the first one that asked about Dota 2 or Path of Exile with the "whalebot lfn dota2" command, but there are many people that are interested in gaming in general and that is a good news!

The essential idea is that you can then right-click the username that has the same interest as you, message them and have a private conversation with them by chat or by the voice chat. You can talk about your hobbies with them, group up and share some stories with each other. That is how you can build friendship!

The whole project is very young, but I can see its light. You should really try it for yourself, you can't really lose anything by just trying it out. Also follow @rawbinhutt for some amazing contests and posts! If you have any question about the project feel free to ask me. :)

I thought the idea of steemit was to foster authenticity, while building a community. In what ways have steemit users been blackmailed in the past? Or have been threatened by using content against them?

the initiative is created by @rawbin-hutt. :)

And now onto the elaboration. You really got me thinking shalala. What I meant by that is that if you put your home address into some post's comment it will always stay in a blockchain forever and everybody can use that for their advantage later (you can be very rich later for example). You really can't know what people are able to do when they are depressed, drugged or just having a bad day.

Also there were some really "big" steemians who put their active key onto the memo when they sent their money to their bittrex account. It really could be used for some malicious stuff, but good people caught this first. changed the keys and give the accounts back to the rightful owners.

Also some people are not really flagged for doing bad things on the platform, but just because there is something more personal between these people. For example ned versus officialfuzzy.
