The problem is first and foremost that the corporation has taken over the government because the people have lost the will to use government as it is intended to work. This of course has been plotted by the powerful. The more you blame government, the more you fall into their hands. The less you think you have power, the more power you give to them. The military-industrial complex - private businesses - are behind most of what you rightfully rail against. You can change that by voting against the system. If America had thrown Bush out in reaction to the Patriot Act, things might have changed, but they did not, so things did not change. The people, by their vote, said "I dont care about the Patriot Act". So it has continued. Personally, I write letters to my representatives when they squawk about the need for "public safety". I supported Bernie because he is for personal privacy and stood against the war (Trump did not, contrary to his lies, his only statement before the war supported it). I agree with your assessment of the symptoms, but you are throwing away your only tool to fight it - representative democracy - and running into the bed of your true enemies - private corporations. We need to strengthen government and democracy, not weaken it. Years of Reaganism and Thatcherism have created this mess, not solved it. All Reaganism and Thatcherism have done is to put uncounted billions into the hands of the obscenely rich, to do with as they will, culminating (so far) in money being considered free speech, and bribery being considered a form of democracy. All in the name of freedom, of course.

Finally you get back to the main point. Nobody has the "right" to rule anyone else.

They have the MEANS to rule others. Through soft or (if that fails) hard power.

There IS NO DIVINE RIGHT TO RULE. There is just power and the exercise thereof.

And as long as you keep handing your power away (to those with financial power and to those with religious power), and as long as you fail to strengthen, support and use the one power everyone has - democratic power - (hard won for you by previous generations), you will get weaker and weaker and weaker.

There is no divine right, because there is no God. Every system that we are ruled by was created by men seeking power. Whether thats through fear of the afterlife, economic oppression, protection rackets, or anything else - these are all human systems.

The only way to improve is to strengthen the systems that favor you and to weaken those that favor the powerful.

Currently, the main battle is between capital and democracy. Pick your side. Capital is systematically altering democracy in front of your eyes, so there might not be much time left to choose the sides where you have the power.

If you think that you are sufficiently powerful in capital, then choose that side.

But dont pretend that power is handed out by "right" by a fairy in the sky. You have no rights. You have only the freedom that you pick up and wield. All rights are pure fictions. What you have or do not have is power.

I'm battling to increase the power of the 90% and to decrease the power of the 0.1%.

We have 2 main sources of power: our wealth (getting collectively smaller) - which can selectively take out the worst actors by boycotting them - and our vote - as long as we have a government that has enough power to be able to effectively fight on our behalf.

But go ahead. Keep arguing against healthcare, against an economically secure retirement, and against education, and against decent wages for all. I'm sure that will work out for you.
