The anecdotal fallacy is to use a particular personal or isolated example to attempt to prove a generalized universal conclusion.

The anecdotal fallacy is also known as misleading vividness. What is most vivid in our environment and most available (availability heuristic) to us, is what is first used to draw conclusions.

This vivid availability of information in our memory affects how we process new information to draw or redraw conclusions. Instead of forming conclusions based on sound reasoning or more compelling evidence, we choose what is most personally available and vivid to weigh in on our judgments. We use one specific particular occurrence to induce a general universal conclusion for how it always occurs. One single premise is not enough to support the strength of a generalized conclusion.

Logic is fun. It prevents us from fooling ourselves or being fooled by others.

More to come in the future.

Type of fallacy? Formal fallacy

I have been thinking a lot of about the mental struggle of the Steemit content creator situation. I feel like a big issue is HOPE. Even when people have been on the whale bot list and done really well they start dreaming of a life where they could travel the world and not have to worry about finances. As soon as they aren't on a whale bot list and feel the struggle that most people have felt their HOPES and DREAMS are suddenly dashed. Usually people don't get their HOPES up at an 8 to 5 job. They have already accepted that isn't the path to wealth but often more of a necessity to pay bills.

My Steemit situation is different. Very challenging....... But that is for another time.

Well it's definitely not a dependable income like a 9-5 job. Anyone who replaces a job for Steemit needs to own up to their own personal responsibility in life. Definitely having whales upvote is what gets payouts. Not everyone posts the same quality content to merit the same upvotes. I had another closing caption instead of the one I used, just as long, talking about how you don't need to look at yourself, the quality of your posts, improving exposure, etc.... lol, but I chose this closing instead.

Thanks for the feedback.

There's sooo many people to whom I wish I could easily explain this. I think a lot of people having arguments don't actually care how sound their case is. They just want "their truth" to be heard. 😕

Excellent way to prove a point.

What's the difference between "stick figures" and "six figures"?
