Complaints that tempt us to buy cheap clothes are replaced by commercials with natural collections or clothing made from recycled materials. Poor working conditions in the garment industry are unfortunately the order of the day. Forced overtime, extremely low wages and discrimination occur regularly, just like child labor. For the tens of millions of people working in the clothing and textile industry (mainly in Asian countries) there are still few social provisions. So-called sweat shops, where behind closed doors people are exploited against low or no wages, are far from being banned. Every piece of clothing is made with care, and sometimes literally with sweat and tears, by human hands from all over the world.
