Sumo - Natsu Basho 2018, Update - day 9
The January Champion Sekiwake Tochinoshin is the sole leader as he is the only one who is unbeaten after day 9. On Day 8 Tochinoshin had the hardest fight so far at this basho as his opponent Ichinojo, also Sekiwake, gave him a hard time at the debut, but the Georgian handled it and won the bout with yorikiri. Today he had an easy fight though.
Yokozunas Kakuryuu and Hakuho are both 8-1.
Ozeki Goueidou is out of tournament.
Tochinoshin is getting closer and closer to Ozeki rank.
6 more days are ahead. Should Tochinoshin continue his magnificent run? We shall see.
