Sense of living?

Every time I think about it, the world seems a little more insignificant than it already is. Putting all the physical and mathematical facts aside, in the end there are only two possibilities: Everything is determined, everything happens by chance. One side is depressing, you can't achieve anything anyway or you think you have control over what you do. The other side seems scary, also no control and you would have to rely on your fate if such a thing exists.

Given these views, regardless of which of the two, does it even make sense to do anything?
