RE: ADSactly Literature - Edgar Allan Poe: Root of Literary Modernity (Part II)

in #literature5 years ago

Poe is one of the writers most admired by great writers. Many of them, like Borges, Cortazar or King, have openly expressed their admiration and Poe's influence on each other's work. Some even believe that the influence is so direct that they can speak of imitation, as in the case of the story "The Death of the Other" by another great, Horacio Quiroga. Some people even bet that this influence has not only remained in the area of lyrics, it is also present in cinema and music. What is clear is the importance and transcendence of the American writer for world literature. Thank you for an excellent post, @josemalavem.

That's right, @nancybriti. Poe's influence is immense, pentrant, although he was not recognized in his time and his country for the moment. It extends to poets and storytellers from the second half of the nineteenth century in Europe and the rest of the world in the twentieth century to the present day. It transcends the literary sphere until it has a presence in expressions of mass culture. Thank you for your reading and comment. Greetings.
