That aspect you notice is precisely the basis of what Paz calls the "tradition of rupture", an absolutely modern feature in art: how a movement is born from breaking with a previous one(s), although in many cases they are reinterpretations or enrichments of those.
The poem that you quote from Baudelaire, "Correspondences", condenses part of his vision of the symbol, in that suggestive manifestation that is synaesthesia. Greetings.
