Litecoin: boon or bust?

Litecoin made the headlines in the crypto-currency news world this week as the team around the project aimed to activate Segregated Witness (SegWit), a comprehensive solution to many setbacks of Bitcoin. The successes lead the team to leak news of plans of further advancements and the crypto responded by spiking to all-time highs. Litecoin seemed to be finally threatening the Bitcoin market share. At around $36 USD, Litecoin enjoyed a mark about three times what it had been two weeks prior. But, it was only there for a moment. These developments with Litecoin aligned with a correction in Bitcoin as the king of all crypto-currencies began a mighty fall- this after enjoying a bearish run taking it to all-time highs- sparking intense sell-offs of BTC that began to run the unconfirmed transactions of Bitcoin over 170,000. The delayed transactions happened at the worst possible time for many, as their take on holding BTC diminished before their eyes and the transactions were either failing or delayed. There were also hackers using NSA tools stolen by the Shadow Brokers to extract Bitcoins from their victims, an infection that spread worldwide, adding to what many considered to be bad press for Bitcoin- it seemed that the value of Litecoin was exponentially gaining while the value of of Bitcoin was diminishing to the tune that Litecoin might eventually overtake Bitcoin and become the standard. What good is storing wealth if you can't access it or it takes too long? Lightning network integration and other impressive technological block-chain advancements are still being actively developed on Litecoin, yet as I write this, I watch in amazement as the price of Litecoin plummets, expected to fall to 13$. And then there's Bitcoin: how soon will it be until it all comes grinding to a halt? The next sell-off? 2000$? And, will it be too late then for Litecoin shine as other cryptos are gaining traction? In addition, Ripple took much of Litecoin's thunder this week as many looked to stable stocks that were holding and followed the money there. I believe that Litecoin is the future with transactions taking seconds or less and it's undervalued, but I'll have to sell my Litecoin now and wait for the rest of the world to believe in it too.
