Litecoin (LTC) is likely to hit $100 USD in 2017
From a percentage basis, Litecoin seems to have the greatest upside potential of the Big 4 ( Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, and Litecoin).
Why?
Technology. Price Stability. Volume.
Technology:
- Litecoin is much faster and more energy efficient than Bitcoin do to its Scrypt encryption vs SHA-256. Yes Scrypt is theoretically less secure but this has not materialized in real world use.
- Litecoin already has Segwit activated, therefore already scales better than Bitcoin or Ethereum. Also Litecoin is already using the Lightning Network.
- Litecoins fees are much lower the Bitcoin.
- Charlie Lee (creator of Litecoin) recently announced he left his job at Coinbase to work on Litecoin tech.
- MIT is announcing a new technology on Litecoin on Aug 1st.
Price Stability
- Looking at the chart for Litecoin, it is the most price stable of the big three currencies.
- Price stability makes Litecoin appear to be a "safe haven" crypto asset.
- Price stability leads to adoption as a payment mechanism, which we are already seeing.
Volume
- The volume on Litecoin in some days exceeds that of Bitcoin. This means that it is being used. That is huge.
- This kind of volume creates liquidity, which also makes it a viable financial instrument.
The conclusion is that Litecoin likely belongs in a well diversified cryptocurrency portfolio and could see much upside ahead!
