Litecoin Price Spikes After Feb 26 Litepay Announcement

I follow the value of Litecoin very closely because of my recent swing trading. I've been waiting for the price to drop down to $111 so I can rebuy low for basically guaranteed profit.

Much to my dismay, Litecoin jumped from $160 to $180 today. Even stranger, other cryptocurrencies didn't move much. Usually you'll see spikes across multiple blockchains at the same time. When one moves up on it's own this can point to a very significantly telling event. This happened recently when Steem was ranked highly on the new Weiss crypto scores. Steem made a stable jump from #33 market cap to #25.

Sure enough, a Google search revealed massive hype surrounding the announcement of Litepay. Litepay will make it much easier for vendors to accept Litecoin.

Cryptocurrency, in general, has largely been hampered by minimal use cases, volatile markets, speculative investments, obtuse whitepapers, and shoddy infrastructure among various exchanges — making an already user-unfriendly process that much more inaccessible. It has been argued that until cryptocurrency transactions are truly as easy as swiping a debit or credit card, they will remain outside the realm of the mainstream.

For now, we see an increase of Litecoin by $20, but Litepay is a good thing for all blockchains. If any coin becomes mainstream it gives some legitimacy to all other coins. Hopefully, 2018 will be the year that The Blockchain is taken seriously by society. Hopefully with Litepay, we hit the ground running.
