Presentation of a Mute

in #listen7 years ago

I'm a man of few words when I'm even writing. The funny thing would be to finish the post here, but today it's not supposed to be funny. I come to break my vow of silence once again, for the one who reads to me, as if throwing a bottle into the sea with a poem by an unknown author inside. This isn't a poem, though. The internet doesn't even look like shit to the sea.
I'm one of those who listens, who can't talk. I am one of those who forget their own speeches when they have to be released, even if it is the most logical thing that my little mind is capable of reasoning. That's why I don't usually find out in time who those who won't shut up are. The few times I have something to say the words that come out of my mouth are automatically drowned in a sea of infinite sounds where time has long since stopped giving information.

It is people who like to listen too much to themselves, who have lost the ability to listen. Some have also defined them as Zombie people. You will be able to identify them perfectly -if any more clues were needed- because of their ability to go around the same subject without providing any information, giving each time a more relevant tone to their words as they become more trivialized. Their compulsive need to listen to themselves leaves in the background all the importance of information and its quality, and if their own words contradict each other or merge themes that even the best novelist couldn't put together. It wasn't going to matter too much either, because the story will run its course until you forget if you have said that coffee takes it with or without sugar, or what breed is your dog.

I dare to give a clinical diagnosis without any foundation or knowledge of matter, for that is my monologue and my absolute lack of judgment. This is due to an inability on the part of the subject to remain alone with oneself. They can't stand it and the mere idea of knowing that loneliness is an option that gives them such fear that they give up any possibility of letting others express themselves or even flee. They don't even think about being able to stand for a moment and listen to a bird if they can't give you a speech about what an aunt of hers saw in the eye of a sparrow on the other side of the world while she was kidnapped by English pirates at tea time.

If you notice, they are usually hyperactive of the kind that you can't have something in your hands without destroying it, sitting quietly without moving from one place to another, or letting you stop gesturing to form a hurricane even if you've smoked a joint like their big head. However, then they are not active and their initiatives are based on collective thoughts. I have never seen a person of these characteristics come up with a plan that does not include a group if it is not for a very obvious reason. Less Argentines, but those are measured by another stick. This also points to the lack of self-esteem that verbiage entails, even though these are the ones who most easily become leaders. But they also don't understand when someone doesn't follow them under penalty of not being with the group.
None of this has anything to do with the title of the post, so let me put a photo as little as I agreed on the topic and give you a piece of advice you didn't ask for:

Try to stop talking from time to time to dedicate yourself to listening, that those of us who are already mute are also gradually becoming deaf.
