Headless Server Date/Time Management in LinuxsteemCreated with Sketch.

If, like me, you are running slimmed down, headless Linux machines (ie. no monitor), then you might need these tips to keep your date and time current on your system without bulky user interfaces.

Set your timezone:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdata

Set the server time from the internet:

sudo rdate -v time.nist.gov

Set your hardware real time clock to the current system time:

sudo hwclock -w

small but important information ..
thank you @makerhacks

Do you not run NTP on your Linux computers?

Not all of them, some have timesyncd by default of course
