I found the problem...

This is just a boring little geekery post about why my website was troubling me, but as a content creator, this has been a very important problem.

As I was complaining about in my last post or two, my long time good web site host, IXwebhosting sold to Site5 and my account has now been transferred to Site5 infrastructure. Well, there were problems and I only found out about this transfer when I called IXwebhosting support. The problem I had was that there was this ICANN verification page saying I will have to wait 24-48 hours for it to propagate. Grrr. I was right in the middle of working on content and design as well as a paid ad campaign to drive traffic to the site.

After some futzing around on their end, the problem wasn't going away, but it did seem to point to my ISP not renewing their cache. Luckily, I've been around the block several times in the server/ Internet world. I suspected this was a DNS problem.

A quick Google search about using OpenDNS servers on my Linux Mint OS and now everything is zinging along.

Phew.
