Linux really has come a long way, thanks to Steam there are even more native Linux ports of games available.
Wine too is also really cool, and pretty much a must have for most Linux users. But I guess one of the problems it has is that in many cases you do need to play around with the settings and winetricks. Playonlinux is pretty cool as a solution though!
