The art of forgiveness-Lighttheworld, day18

in #lighttheworld7 years ago (edited)

"Therefore, if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; 15 But if you do not forgive their offenses against men, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Once sharing and reflecting on the word of Jesus and grateful to @gavvet and @hanshotfirst, for their beautiful reflections, it is a way of reconsidering and finding ourselves, thinking about what we have done so far and in some way changing our wrong behaviors .

To forgive means to excuse someone who has offended us or not to take into account their lack. In the Bible, the Greek word translated "forgive" literally means "to let go," as when a person stops demanding that a debt be paid. Jesus used this comparison in teaching his disciples to pray: "Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who owes us" (Luke 11: 4).

Forgiving is important because it shows us and teaches the true meaning and way of love. And the way to learn to love and be loved is by loving. The way to forgive and be forgiven is to forgive. And the way to be free is to liberate others as well. Every disciple of Christ who wants to grow in God's love will need to walk the path and the process of forgiveness and spiritual and emotional liberation, which will bring healing in his own relationship with God and with his fellows.

Forgiving is the path of spiritual, mental and emotional liberation. The person who authentically frees himself is the one who forgives, throwing out of his soul the past, guilt, spite and revenge, which only degrades him, consumes him inside him and keeps him tied to past hurts and pains.

Forgiving is difficult, especially when we believe that we are right and a thousand justifications for not doing so. We will have to overcome thousands of internal voices and the pain and emotions that prevent us from pronouncing inside our hearts, one of the most difficult phrases: Sorry!
Forgiving when you have been offended and humiliated is when you can truly manifest the greatness of your heart completely surrendered to the loving Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Forgiving is when in spite of feeling offended you dare to give a smile of love.
Only someone filled with the love and presence of God can love authentically and can tell the offender: I forgive you!

In my personal life there have been many times I have had to forgive, the most difficult is to forgive the person who took the life of a loved one.
