While I had forgotten the idea of ​​starting tennis, I was shocked 2 days later when the advert "Find tennis courses in {x} city" appeared. I neither wrote it anywhere (including friends on whatsapp), nor did I say it out loud.

Now you will say that they may have analyzed my previous google searches, looked at what people searched for the same thing as me next, and showed me what they were searching for as an advertisement. Since our lifestyles with these people are very similar, it is highly likely that the idea of ​​starting tennis came to their mind as well. but does the story end there? No.

I thought I'd do a test after I was confused by google reading my mind. I thought I'd think of something that has nothing to do with my lifestyle and that people who search for the same things as me would never search for. rosary came to mind. It's an item that doesn't fit my lifestyle, that I will never use.

For a few days, I thought of getting a rosary as I thought about it, I imagined myself while I was wearing a rosary. Just when I was out of my mind, when I forgot to think about the rosary, google brought up an advertisement for Trendyol. and what do you like on the cover of the ad? yes, rosary. I had neither written anywhere nor searched nor said it out loud. but here it was, the rosary ad that has nothing to do with my lifestyle.

When I mentioned the issue to my friends, they mostly mentioned that there were underwear advertisements for them. so I think I belong to a test group. In other words, Google has chosen certain people to test its new artificial intelligence and is trying its new algorithms on them.

I know most people won't believe it. but years ago, when it was said "google listens to us and shows ads accordingly", people who saw it as a conspiracy theory and made fun of it are now completely used to google listening to us and showing ads. In these 10 years, it is not as unlikely as we think that they have developed an algorithm that will use the incredible amount of data they have and develop an algorithm to detect people's movements in advance.
