Nice words. I agree with what you say. Meditation does wonders for relaxing and calming the mind, which leads to clarity and insight. And, if this insight is followed, life can be good. Food also has a big impact on how we feel. If we become truly mindful we notice how, after a meal of unhealthy food, we feel, which is not so good. On the other hand, if we eat healthy foods, we notice the energy we have. The other thing is our conditioning, societal, cultural, family, etc. plus our natural instinct to avoid the unpleasant, or what we think is unpleasant. Due to the nature of our mind-body existence we will experience certain natural events that are not pleasant. Happiness is attained by facing this reality straight on without sugar-coating it.
