The Federal High Court in Abuja today has ordered the Department of State Security to release Omoleye Sowore within 24 hours.
Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu gave this ruling today and fined the DSS 100,000 naira for failing to obey court order and denying him freedom after the court had since granted him bail and Sowore meeting his bail conditions.

The judge who was visibly angry at the situation adjourned the case till December 6 for the continuation of hearing. She, however, ordered that the fine be paid to the defendant before the next adjourned date.

Recall that Sowore's mother had made an emotional plea to the Federal government of Nigeria to release her son because he is not a criminal. This plea has got many Nigerians tongue lashing the Federal government as to how heartless they are.

Would the DSS obey the court this time around? Let's see how things turn out.
