Seriously it is so alarming, I am a teacher too and we suffer the same back here in Nigeria.
Teachers are not regarded as anything but rather the politicians loots our money and go dump them in outside countries causing starvation, unemployment, lack of allowances for workers.
Indeed the educational sector should be looked into, its disheartening.
We need God in our Nations.
We need godly, good and considerate leaders.

It is unfortunate, because teachers are the ones who educate our children, they are the ones that together with parents influence and contribute to their formation. I think that teachers and doctors should be the best paid.
and as you mention, our nations urgently need an intervention from God, because only He can change the minds of the rulers and the population, and end the chaos.
