WHY ARE KINGS NOT BEEN RESPECTED IN THEIR HOMETOWN?

Me and my friend was discussing yesterday about something that had to do with a king not been respected in his hometown.

Am sure many of us have had this saying "that a King is not Respected in his Hometown." This is very true, a King most of the time is not respected in his hometown. But am sure that many of us even though we have heard that a King is not respected in his hometown, we have never bothered to ask why a king is no respected in his hometown.

Even me too I have never really thought of why a king is not respected in his hometown. But not until yesterday when me and my friend where talking about it yesterday, that I thought that why really is a king not been respected in his hometown.

If you go with the way the saying is put, that "A King is not respected in his hometown, you will think that the followers are bad people for not respecting the king. But are the followers really the bad once? Maybe but they are, but Couldn't the king be at fault too sometimes? I think the king too can be at fault too sometimes, if he is not been respected in his hometown.

One of the main reasons why I think that Kings might not be respected in their hometown, is because they treat their followers badly.

I will use a family unit has an example to explain my point. In a family, you can say that the father is the king, the mother is a queen and the children are the followers. Fathers are supposed to care and provide for the family, but if they are not doing it, they might not be respected by their kids.

I know several kids who don't have much respect for their fathers, because their fathers neglected them. So the reason why a king is not respected in his hometown, could be because he is not treating his followers well. The King might be praised outside of his hometown has a good king, but it is only his followers who know really whether he is a good or bad king because they are the once that are living with him.
