Help Your Children With Social Anxiety and Learn to Talk Positively to Your Children
Many of us have heard the saying, "You can not win your life with a negative attitude". When I was younger, I remember hearing this a lot as a child. I also grew up around negative people that speaking negative words to me over again. I thought, "Why can't I talk to my self-talk like they do?" So, I did some research. I found out that there is a way to talk positively to my own self-talk and I want to share with you what I learned.
In order to talk positively to yourself, you need to change your negative thoughts into positive phrases. The reason being is that if you are using negative self-talk to get what you want, you won't succeed. Instead, you want to change your negative self-talk to positive phrases such as, "I can", or, "I can have", or, "I can do". If you keep repeating these positive statements to yourself over, eventually your mind will believe you. This change in thought will have a profound effect on your level of self-confidence.
Once you have changed your negative thoughts into positive thoughts, you need to change the way you speak to yourself. Say to yourself something like, "I am a confident person", or, "I am going to succeed", or, "I am a valuable person". Talk these positive words to yourself each time you talk to yourself. This is a great way to increase your self-confidence in your next meeting with a new person.
I encourage you to make use of the law of attraction to give yourself a boost in your next meeting. What this means is that, by using powerful affirmations, you will be able to create the mindset that you need to attract more favorable circumstances to occur. With strong positive mindset, you can talk positively to yourself because you have the knowledge that whatever you focus on becomes true.
In order to help you get the mindset you need to talk positively, it helps to learn how to use positive words. The words you speak to yourself determines what kind of reality you will experience. For instance, when you say things like, "I am a valuable person" or, "I am a confident person", do not lie or tell you that you are someone other than yourself. This can be very tempting if you let it get to you. However, if you keep repeating these words to yourself as you speak to yourself, eventually your mind will believe you and your words will be true.
To practice positive self-talk and to develop a positive self-esteem, try saying to yourself things like, "I am a valuable person, people love to be around me. My honest opinions are respected. I am a good listener and I always try to help others. I also see the beauty in everyday situations and I enjoy what I do."
The third step to talk positively towards your children is to make use of positive self-affirmations. Positive affirmations are statements you tell yourself on a regular basis. These words can be positive words that you have learned to repeat when you want to relax or when you want to attract something in your life. If you have a friend that has children of your own, ask them for some positive self-affirming words to use with your children.
The fourth step is to practice visualization. Many young people with social anxiety report that they feel so fearful in social settings that they visualize being happy or having fun. Using this technique is very effective because you build up positive emotions as you picture yourself having fun. This step can also help you practice positive self-talk and develop a positive self-esteem by visualizing yourself overcoming your social anxiety.
