VALUE OF A GIFT
How do you see the value?
Is it in the eye of the receiver or giver?
Is it from the heart?
Does it have strings attached?
What value is considered to much to gift?
Does the amount change for family and friends?
Do you place conditions of a gift and how it is used?
There are a thousand more questions that can be a part of a gift and the giving of them.
Now factor in the needs and wants of the one you are giving a gift to, does it help or hurt them?
And when did we as a people decide to gift others?
Steemit is crypto cash is that a good gift?
Homesteaders can have a lot of items that would be great gifts from seeds, tools, etc.
Just questions to ponder on how others see "gifts".

Beautiful simple poetic reflection. Not sure if it was meant to be a poem or not, but all the same...
A "Gift" can not be given, until it is accepted. And yet it must be given without intention of return. If one gives with the intention of receiving something in return, it is not a gift, it is a solicitation, investment, trade, or transaction. And even if given freely, the other must be willing to accept. If not, for one can not accept, what one is not willing or able to receive. I don't know. Interesting question to ponder.

For us, we don't really give gifts on holidays, we just give them when we feel it, or when we make something or see something that is absolutely perfect for someone. No obligation giving here. which gives gifts a much deeper meaning...for us at least.

A gift should given from the heart without expecting anything back. But that gift should also be something personal, meaning that you paid attention to what they really need or want. Now I get that not is always going to happen but something to shoot for!
