How to Burn out Stress Instead of You!

in #lifelast year

Stress. I see it every day. I'm sure you do too. It's everywhere: on the news, at work, at home, in our friends, family, and even pets.

We all know what stress feels like, but how can we tell if we're burning ourselves out from stress or if the source of stress is actually causing us to stress?

Is stress bad for us? Yes! It causes us to lose sleep, leads to headaches, and even causes depression.

But how do we burn it out?

We burn it out by doing things to make us feel less stressed. And some activities help us burn stress out better than others.

But what's most important is figuring out whether a certain activity is actually helping us or making things worse!

Here are a few common ways people burn stress out:

  • Shopping

  • Going to work

  • Spending time with our families and friends

  • Watching TV

  • Eating junk food

  • Smoking cigarettes

  • Drinking alcohol

Now, I want to show you three ways that these activities can actually make you feel worse. Then I'll show you what to do instead.

In this video, I share what works and what doesn't with different stressors.

STEP 1: Get Rid of Junk Food

Eating junk food makes you feel sick, gives you gas, and messes up your digestion. This might cause you to gain weight and lead to all kinds of health problems.

A good way to make sure you're not eating junk food is to keep a list of the foods you eat. This helps you stay accountable and keep you focused on what you're putting into your body.

STEP 2: Go Outside

Going outside does a lot of things for your health. Not only does it reduce stress levels, but it also improves your mood and makes you feel happier.

Of course, we all need to be inside occasionally to avoid the elements, but going outside more often can actually do a lot of good for us.

If you go to the park, play tag, or hike around a lake, you're likely to encounter more people than you normally would at home. This increases the chances that you'll meet new people, which can improve your social life.

STEP 3: Practice Self Care

Self care is a big part of life. But if you find yourself stressing out about things that are really not that important, you might start neglecting the important things in your life.

Instead of worrying about what's wrong, take the time to focus on the good stuff in your life. It's important to enjoy your hobbies and your time with friends and family.

Try to find more time for exercise, meditation, and other activities that can help you de-stress. Don't forget to take a break from time to time and just rest. Rest is essential to maintaining a happy life.
